Crowd mentality pt2

When all the appointed people had entered, the king called on a man in the town that was known for always saying the truth(no matter who was concerned), when he was called upon everyone booed him. He went in spent a lot of time inside and when he finally came out, he told the everyone he didnt see any being inside, that all he saw was chairs and tables, everyone started aughing and making jest of him.
Then the king called for decorum, he cleared his throat and then he told the whole town that he had wanted to test the sincerity of the rich people he chose, that there was no angel anywhere(in the house) and he just wanted to see those that would stand for the truth.
Most often we do things based on what the majority are doing or what they would think, not that one should be an outcast or an anti-societist but it would be good when we ask ourselves these questions when taking decisions, why must i do this? If i must do it, why am i doing it? Am i doing this cause its the right thing to do, or its what i want?
There was a time that a cantonment exploded in my state, so there was series of explosions and most people didnt know what was happening. Some people on hearing the blasts started running, within few minutes there were over a hundred people running, following those they saw running without thinking of where the blasts was from or where those that were running were going, about twenty-something of them ran into quicksand.
Whatever we do, lets be sure we want to do it, know how we want to go about it.
